FinCEN’s new Residential Real Estate (RRE) Rule, effective March 1, 2026, requires real estate professionals (title agents, lawyers, etc.) to report non-financed residential property transfers to legal entities or trusts to combat money laundering, collecting details on buyers, sellers, beneficial owners, and payment methods for transactions like all-cash deals, with closers responsible for filing reports. This aims to increase transparency, but professionals must document and report crucial info like names, DOBs, SSNs, and property details to FinCEN.
